Forum Title: Wall Repair
I'm new to this site but I am hoping someone has run into this particular problem before and can give me some advice. I recently went into a plaster home to do a wall repair; water damage to a wall from a leaky roof. The interior walls were plaster board but this exterior wall was plastered over blue board on concrete block. When I started scraping all the loose paint and top coat of plaster, most of the scratch coat or brown coat, while a bit chalky stayed in tact. However I have 2 places, each about the size of a baseball where the base coat came off, revealing the blue insulation board underneath. My original plan was to seal it with a chalk sealer and use drywall compounds to fill and skim out the wall ( I usually use USG 20 or 90 minute mud). But now I'm wondering if I am going to have an adhesion problem with the blue foam board. Has anyone run into this before?
